Crinkle Cotton
Crinkle cotton is the texture our family has spent thirty years perfecting. Instead of wearing out over time the way flat cotton does, it softens — every wash makes it a little more yours.
It starts as a plain weave, then goes through a controlled shrink-and-twist process that locks the texture in permanently. No two pieces crinkle in exactly the same pattern, which is part of the point: it's supposed to look like it's already lived a little.
We dye every batch with non-toxic dyes, and every yard is worked by hand by the same artisan network in Cotopaxi, Tulcán, and Otavalo that's been with UTKU since the beginning.
