Our Story

Three generations, one workshop

It started in 1975, when our grandmother, Orlanda Eufemia Cosios Vázquez — trained under Sara Barja, who made pageant gowns for the queens of Quito — opened her first workshop in Ibarra, Ecuador. Her son Fabián now leads materials and production, her daughter-in-law Shantal heads design, and we design every piece in Winnipeg. Same family, same hands, fifty years on.

Alpargata Pattern


Between the two of them — the alpargata and the faja — there's more colour and pattern logic than we've come close to using up. That's why this isn't a one-season idea. We're still working through what's in these two pieces, one archive at a time.
